Every day I am reminded how awesome God is, He never ceases to amaze me. When you are married sometimes you don’t see eye to eye, strange but true. We had one of those situations arise the other day. My beautiful wife reacted to my miscommunication instead of responding and the ugliness was on. I chose to maintain myself and keep my mouth shut for the most part. While I was just as much to blame as she was, we both where guilty of dishonoring each other. The next morning while in prayer the Lord gently reminded me to read 1 Peter 3:7 Husbands likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers wont be hindered. God took me back to His word that I teach people all the time, to honor my wife so my prayers wont be hindered. I knew what I had to do was to apologize to my wife for my part in the ugliness and protect our relationship, which is so much more important than being right. As I did my part that freed the Holy Spirit up to do His part, which was to work on my wife’s heart, and He did a fantastic job of it. I received an apology about an hour later without any kind of prodding or nudging from me. We each have a part in our relationship and that part is to love and honor each other, oh I almost forgot the most important person in the relationship God. He teaches us how to love through the ugliness and to overlook things when our mouth overrides our heart.
God bless you all.
