Over the next couple of weeks we will be discussing, discovering and inviting the Holy Spirit into our lives in the Camp Grizzly classroom. The Holy Spirit is an integral part of our relationship with others and how we bring Heaven to earth. In the following, you will see how useful the Holy Spirit can be in all of our lives, young and old alike.
As we surrender our daily lives to Jesus Christ we find how hard it can be at times. Jesus knowing that we needed extra help went to Papa God and asked for a helper for us, the Holy Spirit. In John 14:16 “I will ask ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever.”
When we are surrendering those tough places in our lives the Holy Spirit is there to give you the strength. Sometimes it can be frightening to give up that tough place because it has taken up camp in our lives. That camping spot becomes so familiar and comfortable that the thought of surrendering sounds and feels scary. As you ask, the gentle Holy Spirit will give you strength and “dunamis” power. Dunamis is the Greek word from which we get the word dynamite from. Hmmm, guess with the dunamis power we can blow up that tough place and destroy the work of the enemy! Kaboom!! You may say, “Oh that’s so scary, I don’t know if I want to go to that tough place.” The Holy Spirit is the remedy for that feeling too. He brings us peace and makes us feel safe and protected. He is a friend who is always there for us. Remember, John 14:16 ……….he will be with you forever.”
Finally, the Holy Spirit helps us to be like Jesus. Every day when we wake up the first thing we should be declaring is, “Holy Spirit help me be like Jesus.” Don’t be afraid to ask the Holy Spirit for help. After all He is a friend and a comforter. Don’t be afraid to use the dynamite in that tough place that you are struggling to surrender. The Holy Spirit Wants to be put to work in your life. After all that is what he was sent for.
