This is Thanksgiving week so I am listing some of the things that I am thankful for.
First of all, I am very thankful that God sent His Son Jesus to the earth to die on the cross for my sins. He took the punishment that I deserved because of my sinful nature. He says in His word that He came to set the captives free (Isaiah 61:1 & Luke 4:18). The last part John 10:10 states: He came to give life and life more abundantly. Thank you Jesus!!!
I am thankful that He spared my life in several, different instances. I rolled a farm tractor completely upside down, and rolled two milk trucks and was not injured. There have been several difficult situations of life that he has brought me through. Most of these happened before I even knew Him as my personal Savior.
I am thankful when I wake up in the morning for another day of life. That Lord thought of me before the beginning of time, to partake in the beauty and awe of His creation. (Psalms 139: 13-17) “13 For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.” (NKJV)
Thank you God that you love me deeply and intimately, and have great plans for my life. (Jeremiah 29:11) “For I know the thoughts I think toward you, Says the Lord; thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you a future and a hope. (NKJV).
What incidents have happened in your life that you are grateful to God for?
I am thankful for God’s gifts and calling on my life. (Romans 11:29) “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” (NKJV)
I am thankful for my wife. She is God’s special gift to me. She brings joy and is a delight to my life. I can rely on her for wisdom and she gives encouragement. (Proverbs 18:22) “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.”
I am thankful for my children and grand children. They also bring joy and a delight to my life. (Psalms 127:3) “Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him.” (NLT)
I am thankful for all the provisional needs in this life: a nice home to reside in, clothing, the provision of food, income to pay the bills and more. He is more than enough. (Philippians 4:19) “And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (NKJV)
I am thankful to have been born in America where we have freedoms that other countries don’t have, i.e. freedom to worship and praise God openly without being persecuted.
I am thankful for the New Covenant Worship Center! This is the place where one can receive the word of the Lord. It is place where you are loved unconditionally and where you can receive a word of encouragement by others. (Colossians 3;16-17) “16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
I am thankful for the Pastors of New Covenant Worship Covenant Center. They are always bringing forth the word of the Lord for the body of Christ and give of themselves sacrificially.
There is so much to be thankful for what Christ has done for us. I want to encourage you to take a little time each day to proclaim back to God what you are thankful for. (Philippians 4:8) “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”
