Growing up I thought I would never see the days that we are living in now. I guess I was oblivious to the real world living in rural Wisconsin and always hoped that life would be easy and would never change. In school we learned in history class about wars. Wars in the Medieval times, the Revolutionary War, the battles between the Indians and the white man, the Civil War, World War 1 & 2, the Korean War and the Vietnam war. The Vietnam war is the one that I remember the most even though it did not affect me directly, the images that I saw on the news have left their impression in my mind. I even think about the wars that took place in Biblical times and the civil right movement in our country. What about the ones that I don’t even know about, like gang wars and turf wars in our inner cities. These wars and other wars that are taking place today have left a mark on our society. In all these wars every one involved had to pay a price...it cost them something. Families either dealt with the loss of a loved one or soldiers and families had to put their life back together.
There seems to be no end to wars. There are not only physical wars but also the wars of the mind to shape and to change culture. If you have ever watched a documentary on WWII you will see how Hitler influenced young men by enticing them to go to camp. While in camp they were trained to fight by playing war games and their minds were being trained to hate. This was to remove the way they were brought up by their parents. They were indoctrinated with one man’s wrong ideals and dream to take over the world. He not only affected young men but he affected a country with his vision for world domination.
The war we are in is with satan. He has been influencing the minds of man from the beginning of creation, who has and is persuading man to doubt God. Man is continuing to question God. When a man is left to his own devices he is capable of doing anything that goes against the truth of God’s word. A man who is left to his or her own devices has no regard for others. It is like saying my will be done, instead of the Lord’s will be done. We will do what feels right to us or me.
Today, there are men and women on all levels of life who have been and are being influenced by what I would call, “mind molders” who go against the truth of God’s word. We can see how it has affected our government on the national level, state, local levels and the judicial systems. The “mind molders” that I am referring to have a secular humanism mind set. It is being taught in our colleges and universities, high schools, and grade schools and in some homes. We can even see how some of the comments on Facebook are secular humanistic. The meaning of secular humanism is as follows: Secular: denoting attitudes, activities, or other things that have no religious or spiritual basis. Humanism: with regard in a particular to the belief that humanity is capable of morality and self-fulfillment without belief in God.
In 1 Peter 5:8 it states: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
So how do we come against this secular humanism mind set? Through Prayer!!! It is time for the Churches the Greater Body of Christ (Ekklesia) to unite together in prayer and fight back for people’s lives and our nation. It is time to wake up and put on the armor God to take back that which was lost. Jesus paved the way; it’s time to follow in His footsteps.
Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
